I was notified by Gina(a blogger) who read my latest book TALK TO ME. She has posted a review on her blog for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Most people aren't aware that over 300,000 children, woman and even men are sexually assaulted each year in the United States alone. Most go without being reported to the police, family or even friends. The statics are in the high millions for women being raped or assaulted. Teenagers are at risk when they go to parties in high school and even in college. They may have had too much to drink or may have been drugged and are taken advantage of.
If you're at a party and you drink too much and become incoherent; that doesn't give anyone the right to rape or assault you. But it happens more than it should, and becomes unreported.
We feel ashamed and think or are told it's all our fault, but it's not! We didn't do anything wrong. Nor did we deserve to be assaulted or raped.
Take a stand by telling someone what happened. Talk to a family member or a friend. You are not alone...
