Officer Adanya Moore arrives at the scene of the accident on the Ohio Turnpike on a rainy Friday morning, unaware that saving one man’s life will change hers forever. A buried secret from her past will surface and she is left with choices that could destroy everything she has worked so hard for. Kaitlyn Gordon had found and lost the love of her life, Adam Tucker, when he left for Afghanistan. A year later, she met Ben Gordon and after college they were married, but her life isn’t as picture perfect as it appears to everyone else. Behind closed doors, Ben is abusive and controlling toward Kaitlyn. When she finally gets the courage to leave him, she receives a call that Ben is in an accident.
The story is set in present time with flashbacks. This story came to me as I was driving to Ohio to visit my family. It took two things to happen that put this 81,000 word novel in motion. It's a mystery, but also a love story in one.
As for THE DEAD GIRL UNDER THE BLEACHERS, it is finished and in the hands of my editor. Here's a little taste of this new young adult book:
Three dead bodies…
The quiet town of Craven Falls is depleting in population. One by one…
Laura Stevenson wasn’t one of the popular girls, but she would do almost anything to hang out with them. To talk to them. Go to parties with them. To be one of them. But what happens when her day finally comes and going back to whom she once was? The nobody. The outcast. It’s no longer an option?
Rachel Sawyer was once Laura’s friend back in middle school, but now hangs out with Scarlet Fitzgerald, the most popular girl at Craven Falls High. When Scarlet wants to play a game on Laura, what happens when Rachel decides to be friends with Laura instead—betraying Scarlet?
Scarlet Fitzgerald is beautiful, smart, and liked by everyone at Craven Falls High. So, what happens when her plan to humiliate Laura turns upside down and her best friend Rachel no longer wants to be a part of her deceitful games or be her friend? How far will Scarlet go to get her best friend back?
Three can play a game, but one ends up dead.
